Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model Ashley Graham Wants the World To See Her Cellulite

Model Ashley Graham has made it her mission to help society embrace beauty at any size by speaking out often about the need for diversity in body image in fashion.

Oh yeah, and there was that time she was the first plus-size model to be featured on the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.

But even though the 28-year-old is a famous model, she also wants the world to remember that she’s human and, like many other humans, she have cellulite.

She took to Instagram to share a picture of herself on a bike and posed in such a way that the cellulite on her right leg is clearly seen.

Accompanying the photo was the caption, “A little cellulite never hurt nobody… Stop judging yourself, embrace the things that society has called ‘ugly.’ #lovetheskinyourein #beautybeyondsize”

Yes, there’s a lot of Photoshop involved in her shoots and she’s thankful they take out the cellulite, which seems a bit contradictory, but it’s also part of her job.

“A little bit is fine, and there’s a time and a place for it,” she said. “On the other hand, if you’re forming my body into something it’s not, I’m not OK with that.”
Regardless, it’s always nice to see people sharing the sides of themselves that are often hidden because of shame or societal norms.

I think the bigger issue in that bicycle picture is that her shoes are untied and she’s not wearing a helmet.

Come on, Ashley!
